Edgar Allen Poe

Edgar Allen Poe Another writer CULTES DES GOULES is addicted to is Edgar Allen Poe. He also inspired my former project WIZZARD on the CD BLACK HEAVY METAL to write music for the "Tell Tale Heart", which is one of the more famous storys of Poe. In fact, this WIZZARD-Song inspired me to use Lovecraft for this project, so Poe has now become important to CULTES DES GOULES

Edgar Allen Poe was born in 1809 and died in 1849 on tuberculosis. His first volume of poetry has been published in 1827 under the name "The Bostonian". He had success in lifetime and the most important story of his career was "The Raven" which was published first in 1845. He was a victim of alcohol and this influenced his whole life.

His masterpieces are (among others) The Pit and the Pendulum, The Murders in the Rue Morgue, The Masque of the Red Death, The Fall of the House of Usher, and The Gold Bug.
